Justify the expense CPS?

Some good friends of mine have been in court recently. THC4MS were prosecuted for supplying cannabis laced chocolate to MS sufferers and Patricia Tabram was prosecuted for growing her own medicine. Yes, they broke the law. The Misuse of Drugs Act states that it is illegal to cultivate, possess, or supply, cannabis and the Appeals Court has made it quite clear that however severe your pain or debilitating your illness the law doesn't care, a law and government policy that supports the torture of UK citizens takes precedence over relieving suffering. Disgusting as it may be it is the law as it stands and they broke it. But the CPS doesn't prosecute people for breaking the law, I've been informing the authorities of my own cultivation for almost three years yet I remain unprosecuted. They prosecute, supposedly, when it is 'in the public interest' to do so.

THC4MS and Mrs. Tabram were harming no one. Their actions had no impact upon society. All persons involved were adults acting under their own free will so any alleged dangers from the use of cannabis would be a self inflicted harm which is no longer illegal in this country. So exactly how was their prosecution 'in the public interest'?

Whilst governments continue to say, 'Global warming is so serious we'll have to talk about it some more' nothing is happening. In one breath they're suggesting green taxes for air travel, with the next they're supporting more runways and ever bigger airports. Planning permissions for windfarms is refused because the nimbys think they spoil the view, I wonder how much they'll like the view when the UK is a desert or an ice field? Renewable energy remains massively under funded but the government wants to spend billions on producing more nuclear waste that they have no idea what to do with in power stations that are a prime target for anyone with a grudge and are not carbon neutral. The uranium still has to be mined, processed, and shipped, all using carbon burning machinery, and you won't find uranium mines in the UK which means we're still dependent on other countries for our power, which is unacceptable.

I don't care if people can afford to fly to Tenerife or not. I don't care if wind farms are pretty or not. I care about my grandchildren.

Government - Stop yapping, start doing.

Terrorists can't be white.

With one phone call these days it would appear you can arrange to have streets closed, helicopters overhead, and vans full of armed police terrorising, assaulting, and even shooting, innocent families, but only if they aren't white.

The media will be full of reports about the innocent family portraying them as dangerous terrorists. If their terrorists stories don't sell enough copies or increase the ratings, you can have the innocent family branded as paedophiles with as much evidence as was needed to bring the vans of armed police. It only takes a suggestion because they aren't white.

But BNP members found with the largest cache of chemical explosives ever in the UK aren't terrorists are they? No says the BBC, not once will you hear the word terrorist when the cases of BNP members Robert Cottage and David Jackson are heard during their current trial at Manchester Crown Court.

You have to be non-white to be a terrorist.

Politicians, stop lying please.

As our Home Secretary, the person responsible for locking up those who break the law, believes David Cameron's use of cannabis is a 'so what' moment, I take it we will soon see the release of all those currently serving prison sentences for it's possession, cultivation, or supply. I'm sure we'll also see our open government insisting upon a national debate about the failure of prohibition in which they will provide all current information on the numerous medicinal benefits of cannabis.

This is probably a good introduction to my sarcasm laden view of our government. Of course none of the above will happen, and I'd love to put a cross next to 'none of the above' when being asked to choose the next elected dictator, because politicians can't speak the truth. They must have some sort of electrical implant inserted into their brain when they become candidates, it's just a physical impossibility for them to give honest answers.

William Hague, one of the recent procession of Tory leaders, couldn't stop himself saying 'cannabis is much stronger now' when asked about his latest successor's Eton toke. It's something you'll hear from many politicians, and employees of the tabloid dung heaps, but it's completely untrue. It's not me saying they are liars, although I agree entirely, it's Home Office Parliamentary Under Secretary, Caroline Flint. You can read it in Hansard if you like. Ms. Flint is quite certain that there is no evidence of today's cannabis being any stronger than the cannabis Mr. Cameron smoked. She stated it clearly in The House. But, not only, do the apologists for prohibition continue to lie to the public, the government's personal advertising company, the BBC, make no attempt to correct them. You can expect gutter trash like the Maul and the Scum to spread political lies but we're paying for the BBC to do it, which isn't what I buy a TV license for.

It's most likely that Mr. Reid is correct, David Cameron smoking cannabis is a 'so what' moment, but his party's continued stance that cannabis is still banned because of anything but fear of loss of face for admitting they were wrong is exactly the response that shows why the public believe all politicians to be self serving, hypocritical, liars.
